As soon as my cover comes I am getting a taxi from earls court, assuming they are not sold out, I am gonna get as many tickets as is permitted, if I have extra ones I will let you know on here...back in 2007 a friend did me a massive favour, based on the fact I was a fellow fan, if I can I will do the same...

Hey, Tony on his way, he's had a nightmare on the trains getting there, he's not far from venue I don't think. He WILL make contact with you, I think he might be seeing first how many tickets he can get as I know he'd love his phone call to you to say that he's got you a ticket! But yeah, those who can get there should definitely try to get tix for those who can't. We're Prince Family!

I think he is there now, still waiting for my colleague here so I can go...this is hilarious in a rather strange way. lol
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Seem to be the thing to do to log in and say 'hello' instead of just lurking around for information, so I thought I'd do the same!

Hello! biggrin

This is all very exciting, isn't it?

And annoying.

And then exciting again.

It's the first time Prince has been here that I've had any kind of respsonsibilities or not been right near the middle of town anyway, so I can't just "GO NOW!" to things, chucking money at the obstacles biggrin biggrin biggrin

Anyway, If I manage to get a day's warning on at least one occasion, I'll be happy wink

Good luck to all those in the queue right now! love

Yeah, he's there. He's texting me. It's a very long queue now. He said if they sell more than 2 tickets per person then everybody there now as it is won't get tickets.

Prince also said in interview yesterday that they will "work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues" and the length of his stay in London would be "open ended". There's no way he dragged himself and his crew over here without eyeing up a larger venue or two for a pay day down the line. He's going to be well received so my guess is after a month of smaller venue hit and run shows he'll take a run at somewhere like Earls Court, Wembley Arena, etc ....be nice to see him in O2 again for old times sake 'cos of the great memories we all have from 2007, but that depends on whether he sees it as repeating himself....he enjoyed it there, so who knows. There's gaps in the O2 calendar the next couple of months so fingers crossed...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news...s-26045864

If he does 10 shows though with an average of 1000 capacity maybe more, he will grab over £100k (Basing it on if he meant £10 instead of dollars) which isnt bad for very little work/organisation the logistics of transporting his gear around london will be reletively simple, and these smaller venues will probabaly charge little hire costs for the fact he will be bringing them more publicity than most people not to mention they will be filled and make a fortune on the bar.

[Edited 2/5/14 5:16am]

A handsome sum for you and me, but not a huge amount to Prince...and he could double that easy with just one night at the O2 with a £40 ticket price, well worth considering if you're business minded (again, not sure if Prince thinks that way, or how he thinks half the time!!!).

On another note, every single tour / show I've gone to see has been extended from its original planned number / size of shows....Prince "11" nights at the O2, Bon Jovi's stint at the O2, Foos at Wembley 2008, Springsteen at Emirates, etc. This will be no different I'm sure.

my first post in about 6 years........

As usual, London wins again. As a fan of Prince for nearly 30 years ( from Scotland ) I guess the only way that you're going to see the wee man is if you live nearby and are able to drop everything at a moments notice and run. I'm sure this 'hit and run' set up is great for his management and publicity gurus', but for your average fan, it's just rubbish. Starting to get really fed up with the unfairness of it all Prince. I permed my hair ( on one side ) in the 80's, wore paisley park pyjamas to school, queued endlessly for various merchandise over the years, bought TONS of records ( and still have a healthy 12 inch picture disc collection in my spare room ) have seen you 6 times in concert, had a few beers and a good laugh with the NPG in a hotel in Glasgow in 1992, but now, with a busy life, a wife and two young children, it is impossible, and actually probably not desirable, to drop everything and flee. So come on wee man, play the game. Give us all a fair chance,.eh?

You could always move house if it means that much! biggrin wink

Is it definitely? I have to say, I don't think that's unfair, then at least everybody in the queue now will get one.

$10,000 a night is a little over £6,000. I doubt that would even cover the wages bill for the vast crew and security, let alone logistics, venue hire, insurance etc. This leg of the 'tour' is running at a loss.

As time passes the announcement gets closer. After getting very tired yesterday and no livestream I'm just gonna wait and see rather than wait and anticipate. At work anyway so it's hard to look with all the corporate blocks etc!

I'm not sure 3rdEyeGirl would suit an arena.. it seems like too small and tight a unit. Perfect for small clubs up to large theatre type venues, but an arena? Meh.

Some O2 shows would be great, but it'd only really work with the NPG, I feel.

Thanks for that.

.

That pretty much rules me out. I can't queue up all afternoon (I'm supposed to be working), and by 7pm that queue will be many more than 1,000 long. It's already about 500 so I don't think I stand a chance.

.

Hope the weather doesn't get too bad for everybody standing there all afternoon.

Having posted last 6yrs 9mths ago I have to say this is all so exciting but I'm too old to jump on a train into London to q for 2 hours in the rain to not get a ticket, or to find out its only a 20min show........So i have to hope they have a proper show, but again I doubt I will get a ticket.

Having been lucky enough to see Price 18 times, maybe its someon elses turn. Good luck folks and make sure you tell us all about it biggrin

Not seen any of the 3rdEyeGirl stuff live myself....any chance they can just turn their amps up a bit to fill an arena with a good sound? lol

Gotta say, even though I'm not involved, its exciting following all the updates on here from fellow Prince fans, and some old Org mates in particular, who are caught up on the hoopla! You're all proper hardcore for braving the weather and crap transport, good luck to you all. I'll be spinning some old Prince cuts at home tonight instead, and hopefully the rest of us tucked up warm and dy at work/home can join y'all later in the tour prince

My brother is in it too and texting me regularly with updates. He did say though that the line is moving so they must be selling tickets at the front. Still no confirmation though that it's definitely one ticket per person.

I just feel it could get a bit lost, especially for people sat right at the back. It's the kind of band you need to see with a great crowd all crammed into a small space. You need the atmosphere.. watching the screens sat at the back of the O2 would suck. You might as well watch it on YouTube.

Besides, he clearly hasn't brought much of a stage/set with him, just the instruments. Arena shows need a huge band/show designed to fill an arena.
